Officers arrested the boy, who is on probation for another robbery, Wednesday night in the Sept. 20 shooting. He is being held on $150,000 cash bail.
Police say the boy, who wasn’t identified since he is a juvenile, approached a 17-year-old walking on North Van Buren Street and demanded his cellphone. Officers say the two struggled and the boy shot the teen in the leg with a handgun.
Police say the boy took the victim's cellphone and fled. The victim was taken to a hospital.
