Stabbing Leaves Man Wounded in Center City

The stabbing on 12th Street early Monday morning was the second stabbing on that block in about 24 hours.

Philadelphia Police say a fight between two homeless men ended with one of the men stabbing the other. Investigators say the fight started around 12th and Race Streets about midnight. The victim has minor injuries to his face, and the suspect is in custody.

A man suffered a stab wound to the face after he got into a fight with another man who pulled a knife on him in Center City Philadelphia's Chinatown section overnight, police said.

The early Monday morning stabbing was the second to happen on the block of 12th Street between Race and Arch streets in about 24 hours. It's unclear if it was at all related to a stabbing on the same block that left a man in critical condition early Sunday.

In the Monday morning stabbing, police said the victim's wound was minor and he was treated at a local hospital. The suspected attacker was in police custody, police said.

Authorities said both men involved are homeless.
