Man Shot in Stomach Outside Philadelphia Bar

One man is in extremely critical condition with a stomach wound after being shot outside of a bar in Kensington on Frankford Avenue. A witness gave police the license plate number of the car seen driving away and police were able to arrest two suspects.

A man who stepped outside a bar in Philadelphia bar to smoke a cigarette is now fighting for his life after he was shot in the stomach.

The shooting happened about 11:30 p.m. Sunday outside Chuckles Bar in the 3000 block of Frankford Avenue in Kensington.

The victim, a male in his 20’s, went outside the bar to have a cigarette when he was approached by the suspect. The suspect pulled out a gun, shot the man in his stomach and then got back into a car and drove away.

Police found the victim bleeding heavily when they arrived. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he is listed in extremely critical condition. The victim’s identity was not immediately known.

Police found the getaway car several blocks away, which had two guns inside, police said. Two suspects were arrested.

The shooting and a motive remain under investigation.
