Same-Sex Couple Misses Out On Marriage Benefits

The gay community is paying close attention as the Supreme Court hears cases regarding same-sex marriage. The cases are contesting the Defense of Marriage Act, which prevents legally married gay couples from collecting federal benefits that heterosexual couples receive. NBC10’s Doug Shimell spoke to one same-sex couple in Manayunk feeling the effects of this legislation.
