1 Dead, 1 Hurt in Reading Convenience Store Shooting

One man was killed while sitting in his truck and another man injured during a gas station shooting in Berks County. NBC10’s Randy Gyllenhaal is in Reading with more.

Police say one person has been killed and another wounded in a shooting at a convenience store in eastern Pennsylvania.

Reading police say the shooting was reported about 1:15 a.m. Wednesday. One adult male victim was found in the passenger seat of a pickup truck in the parking lot . His friend tried to drive to the hospital, but the truck broke down. The victim died after police found them and tried transporting them to the hospital.

Another victim, described as an innocent bystander, was shot in the leg but suffered no life-threatening injuries.

Police haven't described the circumstances leading to the shooting at the Getty Mart. The store is near the Reading Airport. Multiple rounds also hit nearby homes and windows. Multiple shooters are a possibility because of the number of bullets at the scene.

The names of the victims haven't been released and it's not clear whether anyone has or will be charged in the shooting.
