The Port of Philadelphia is getting a $300-million improvement.

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf, Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney and U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., discussed the massive capital improvement program for the Port of Philadelphia at a Wednesday morning news conference.

"This is really important for all of Pennsylvania, it's going to create thousands and thousands of jobs," said Wolf.

The grant is intended to create jobs, double container capacity and improve infrastructure at the port with the goal of positioning the South Philadelphia port for future growth, said organizers.

The majority of the money will go to the Packer Avenue Terminal along S. Delaware Avenue.[[238427591, C]]
