Police Video: Rita's Robbery 1653 Belfield Ave

On August 29, 2012, at 10:00pm, employees of Rita’s Water Ice located at 1653 Belfield Avenue were in the process of closing when one of the employees was approached by two unknown males while outside the store. When the employee noticed one of the suspects had a gun she ran into the store with both suspects following her. Once inside, one of the suspects forced both employees onto the floor while the second suspect took an undetermined amount of cash from the cash register drawer. Both suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction. Suspect Description: Suspect #1: Black male, late teens to early 20 years-of-age, 5’8″, medium build, dark complexion, wearing a dark blue hooded sweatshirt with a “New York Yankees” logo on sleeve, black basketball shorts, and white “Air Jordan” type sneakers, armed with a silver handgun. Suspect #2: Black male, late teens to early 20 years-of-age, medium build, wearing a white and black horizontal striped hooded sweatshirt, black shorts and black sneakers.
