New Castle County Police are investigating the death of an infant at a home in Milltown, New Castle County Delaware.
Police say officers were called to a home on Eunice Avenue in the Dunlinden Acres community on Sunday night for a deceased infant.
According to investigators, the mother of the child is a 15-year-old girl who lives at the home. Investigators say she secretly gave birth to the child a few weeks ago. The girl's father found the child's body in a shoebox and called police, according to officials.
County detectives and the Attorney General's Office are investigating. No charges have been filed.
The body has been turned over to the state Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.
