Delaware Man Gets Into Car Full of Children, Threatens Mom With Knife: Police

Three children in the backseat didn’t stop a man from getting into a Pennsylvania mother’s car and threatening her with a knife during an attempted robbery at a Delaware shopping center, said Delaware State Police.

On Saturday, police identified a suspect in the attempted theft outside of Valley Liquors at Limestone Road Pike Creek Shopping Center in Pike Creek Thursday afternoon at Phillip Pepe of Wilmington.

Investigators said the 25-year-old entered the unlocked passenger side of the 26-year-old woman’s car and displayed a knife as her three children watched from the backseat. Luckily the woman and her children weren’t hurt.

Police issued an arrest warrant for Pepe on charges including attempted robbery, weapons counts and child endangerment. They asked anyone with information to contact Detective D. Grassi at 302-365-8441, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-333 or by submitting a tip online.
