Pickpockets Caught on Camera!

Police say thieves are targeting customers at a popular restaurant

Victims say these men were professionals. NBC10 has exclusive video of a pair of alleged pickpockets in action, targeting Villanova students at a restaurant near campus. Police say the men starting racking up charges on the stolen credit cards before the victims ever left the restaurant. NBC10’s Tim Furlong reports.

Victims call them professional pickpockets. Investigators believe the same pair has targeted customers at Nova Grill on Lancaster Avenue in Villanova twice since last May.

NBC10 obtained exclusive video from the last robbery on July 20. The thieves can be seen on camera, moving their tables close to a group of Villanova students. Then, one of them goes right to work.

"In a very meticulous fashion, he just took out her credit card, one by one, and left the wallet in the bag.  Not only that, he closed the bag" said restaurant owner Costos Xinos.

The alleged thieves managed to rack up charges on the stolen cards before the victims ever left the restaurant!

"I never noticed what they were going because they both walked in with bags, so I was just assuming they were digging into their own bags" said restaurant employee Steve Ward.
