A Philadelphia woman is searching for her beloved dog who went missing Saturday morning.
Shawn Horsley, of West Philadelphia, told NBC10 she placed her 10-year-old Shih Tzu named Merlot outside in her yard and briefly went inside to grab her coat around 8 a.m. When she went back outside, her dog was gone. Horsley then contacted police, believing her pet was stolen.
Horsley said the dog was given to her as a gift from her son ten years ago.
“The dog was bought for me after I underwent heart surgery,” she said. “With me living alone, the dog was a comfort dog.”
Merlot is extremely friendly and responds when you call his name, according to Horsley. If you have any information on his whereabouts, please call Shawn Horsley at 856-313-1712.
