A Philadelphia area tech company is offering its employees a Trump exit strategy.
As interest in moving to Canada spiked Wednesday morning following Donald Trump’s victory in the presidential race — the county’s immigration site crashed in response to the flood of visitors — WebLinc’s CEO Darren Hill said any employee who wants to pack up their bags can relocate to the company's Vancouver office.
“We have a lot of gay, lesbian people here. We have people of all religions here. We have people of Mexican descent, everyone that [Trump has] insulted at one point or another. People with disabilities, they work here,” said Hill. “I’m not in any of those groups but I obviously have sympathy and empathy for them. I really value them working with us and I want to make sure they can continue to do so. If that happens to be in Canada, they’re more than welcome to work there.”
WebLinc — which provides a SaaS e-commerce platform for big-name retail brands like Sanrio/Hello Kitty, Urban Outfitters, Inc.'s brands BHLDN and Terrain, Lime Crime and more — employs about 130 people in its three Old City offices and 20 in Vancouver.
