A&P Lists Philadelphia Area Stores It Wants to Close Immediately

Ten A &P stores in our area are closing due to bankruptcy. Since A&P owns Super Fresh and Pathmark the impact could be bigger than you think. NBC10’s Jim Rosenfield has more.

A Pathmark in Swedesford Plaza in Berwyn, Pa., a Superfresh off Skippack Pike in Center Square, Pa., and one on Columbus Boulevard in Philadelphia will be among the 25 stores A&P will seek to close, according to a published report.

The Wall Street Journal has cited court documents filed by the grocer in naming the stores that will close.

In Pennsylvania, those Pathmarks and Superfresh stores that will be shuttered are in: Center Square; Devon; Folom; Kennett Square; Columbus Boulevard, Cottman Avenue and Franklin Mills in Philadelphia; and Walnutport. In Delaware, stores in Claymont and Wilmington could close.
