Man Serving Life for Killing Boss Found Hanged in Cell

A Pennsylvania man serving life in prison for killing his boss in 2007 has been found hanged in his state prison cell.

State police say it appears 35-year-old Shawn Johnson killed himself with a bed sheet when he was found about 7:15 a.m. Monday at the State Correctional Institution-Greene near Waynesburg.

Prison official say the Greene County coroner was investigating and will release the official cause of death following an autopsy. The coroner didn't immediately return a call for comment Tuesday.

A Delaware County jury convicted Johnson of killing Thomas Lennox in February 2007. Lennox owned VIP Detailing in Norwood and was hit from behind with a blunt object by Johnson, who then stole the victim's money and vehicle.
