Private College to Move to 4-Year Residency Policy Next Fall

Albright College will require all full-time students to live on campus or in college approved housing beginning next fall. NBC10 has the details on the Berks County college.

Officials with a private liberal arts college outside Philadelphia say all full-time undergraduate day students will soon be required to live on-campus or in college-approved housing.

WFMZ-TV reports Albright College will move to a four-year residency policy next fall.

The Reading college says research indicates students are happier and have higher retention rates if they live on campus.

The college is opening a new residence hall. Officials say Albright doesn't own the property and won't receive any revenue from it.

Students living with a parent are exempt as long as the home is permanent and within a half-hour of campus.

Other exemptions include students who turn 22 before the spring semester, are married, or are the guardians of minors who live with them.

Seniors can apply to live off-campus.
