Chef Eli Kulp Reveals He's Paralyzed in NY Post Interview

“I immediately knew I was paralyzed. I tried to start moving and I couldn’t.”

Chef Eli Kulp recalled his experience after Amtrak train 188 in early May jumped off the tracks in an interview with wife Marisa with the New York Post, the first interview the chef has given since the tragic accident.

Amtrak train 188 was headed to New York, where it was announced in March that a second High Street location would open in the West Village neighborhood at 637 Hudson St. later this year.

Kulp was on his way home to Manhattan – the city where he makes his home with Marisa and their 3-year-old son, in order to wake up early the next day, he told the New York Post at the New York University Rusk Adult Rehabilitation Unit.
