Ocean County Fire Burns 6 Acres of Marsh

Several homes were evacuated though fire officials say none have been damaged.

NBC10 viewer Mile Slepian sent us this video of heavy smoke and fire coming from a wooded area in Forked River, Ocean County. Officials say around six acres of marsh and about a half acre of forest burned.

Authorities continue to investigate a brush fire in Ocean County. The fire began Thursday at 3:10 p.m. on the south side of Forked River, NJ.

Investigators say the fire burned six acres of marsh and about half an acre of forests. Several homes were evacuated though fire officials say none have been damaged. No injuries have been reported.
