A new hospital in Montgomery County is set to make its debut this weekend. Einstein Medical Center Montgomery officially opens tomorrow at 6 a.m.

Einstein Montgomery is a 146-bed facility on an 87-acre campus located directly across the Norristown Farm Park.

“We have 8,000 pieces of new medical equipment going into the facility, some of which are brand new services,” said Chief Operating Officer Beth Duffy. “One of those is a level three, neonatal intensive care unit and another is our cardiothoracic surgical program.”

Officials say ambulances will transfer all remaining patients, beginning tomorrow at 7 a.m., from Montgomery Medical Center to Einstein. Montgomery Medical is closing after serving patients for more than 120 years. A Philadelphia development company plans to convert the Montgomery Medical building into apartments for seniors.
