Vacant Philly School Goes Up in Flames

Philadelphia firefighters fought multiple small fires and heavy smoke in North Philadelphia inside an abandoned school early Thursday morning.

Firefighters responded to reports of heavy smoke in a vacant Philadelphia school building early Thursday morning.

Crews began battling several small fires in the old school located near the intersection of Germantown and Allegheny avenues in North Philly around 1 a.m. Thursday, according to authorities.

Officials said they rotated firefighters at the scene since the crews had to climb multiple flights of stairs to survey the property.

There are no reported injuries.
