1 Killed, 4 Injured in Montgomery County House Fire

One person is dead after an overnight fire broke out in Montgomery County. NBC10’s Jesse Gary reports it happened on Skippack Creek Road in Souderton.

One person was killed and four others were injured in a house fire in Montgomery County Monday morning.

The fire broke out about 2 a.m. inside a home in the 100 block of Skippack Creed Road in Lower Salford Township.

The fire reached two-alarms before firefighters were able to place the blaze under control.

Fire officials said 62-year-old Peggi Armato, a resident of the home who was found in an upstairs room, was trapped and killed. Four others were taken to the hospital in unknown conditions.

The floor of the home collapsed at one point and the home sustained heavy back-end damage.

No firefighters were injured.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
