Body Found By Family May Be Missing NJ Man

The family of a missing Atlantic County, New Jersey man says they found their relative, dead, five minutes from their house.

Police, however, aren't confirming the victim's identity.

The family of Andrew Taylor, also known as Abdul Raheem, 23, tells NBC10's Monique Braxton that they began searching for him this morning near their Buena home, after reporting him missing last Wednesday.

The search ended at a mud puddle off Pancoast Mill Road near Route 54 where the body of a man was found face down and partially-clothed by Taylor's family.

The family says it's their loved one, but police are still investigating, waiting on an autopsy before they reveal who the victim is.

Taylor was last seen on Sunday, September 22 leaving his home with two friends. His mother, Angelic Cruz, reported him missing after he didn't show up for his job at Kirkland's Home Furnishings in Mays Landing on Wednesday.

His family tells NBC10 that Taylor has served time in the past, but he's been getting his life together ever since and they don't know why someone would kill him.

Police are expected to have the results of the autopsy Monday.
