Masked Gunman Flees Restaurant Without Money

Police say when the suspect saw how many employees there were in the restaurant, he fled out the back door.

Delaware State Police say a masked gunman fled a restaurant without money after an employee did not understand what he was saying and he saw several other employees in the business.

It happened about 9:45 p.m. Friday at the Pizza Hut on Veale Road in Wilmington. Troopers say a man wearing a white mask and armed with a handgun approached an employee at the rear of the restaurant.

The suspect pointed the gun at the employee and said something, but she did not understand him. The suspect went into the restaurant and the employee ran away.

Police say when the suspect saw how many employees there were in the restaurant, he fled out the back door.

There were no injuries.
