Shooting Victim Dies After Staggering Half a Block

Police are investigating the shooting death of a man in South Philadelphia.

The victim, who was in his 30’s, was on Juniper and Catherine Streets around 11 p.m. on Friday when an unidentified gunman opened fire.

Police say the man staggered about a half a block until he collapsed to the ground on 13th and Catherine Streets. He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators say more than ten casings were found at the scene of the shooting.

Officials have not yet identified the victim or released a description of the suspect.
