Man Shot in Chest in West Philly

A man is in the hospital after being shot in the chest near a gas station in the Kingsessing section of the city. Police are still searching for the gunman.

A passerby picked up a shooting victim and dropped him off at a local hospital.

The 30-year-old man arrived at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania around 1:30 a.m. -- about 30 minutes after he was shot in the chest near the intersection of 52nd Street and Woodland Avenue in the Kingsessing section of Philadelphia, according to police.

The victim is in stable condition.

Police have not made any arrests and the motive is unknown at this time.
