Pittsburgh police have charged a man with 11 counts including drunk driving, vehicular homicide, reckless endangerment and other crimes for a crash that killed a man driving another vehicle carrying three young girls.
Online court records don't list an attorney for 21-year-old Robert Freund Jr., and a man who answered his home phone hung up on a reporter Tuesday.
Police say Freund was speeding and had more than three times the legal limit of alcohol in his system when his vehicle crossed a concrete median and crashed into 60-year-old James Posey's Toyota Highlander on Route 51 about 9:15 p.m. Sunday.
Posey's young daughter and two nieces were also in the vehicle, and were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Freund faces a preliminary hearing Jan. 3. Police say he was also treated for a head injury.
Freund wasn’t able to post $100,000 bail, according to court records.
