Murder Mystery After Body Found in Car

Philadelphia Police are looking for leads after a man was found shot dead inside his vehicle early Tuesday morning. NBC10’s Matt DeLucia has more.

Police have identified a man who was found dead inside a parked car in a neighborhood where no one heard any gunfire.

Around 1:40 a.m. on Tuesday, a passerby found 38-year-old Telly Bell slumped over in the driver's seat of a car parked near the corner of Ross and E Hortter Streets in the East Mount Airy section of Philadelphia.

According to Philadelphia Police, Bell was shot in the head and also had blood on his torso. Medics declared him dead at the scene.

The passenger door of the dark-colored sedan was left open and bullet fragments littered the vehicle leading police to believe that someone shot him.

Who pulled the trigger remains a mystery. So does when the incident occurred.

“We also verified with 911 that there were no calls for gunshots in the area,” said Police Capt. George Fuchs.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Philadelphia Police.
