A Main Line burglar struck a man with a hammer early this morning.
According to Lower Merion Township Police, the thief entered a home on the 200 block of Edgehill Road in Merion Station, Pennsylvania by using a window early Sunday.
Police Superintendent Mike McGrath said the homeowner and his son confronted the burglar and a struggle ensued during which the burglar struck the homeowner's son with a hammer.
Both the homeowner and the son were hospitalized.
After the attack, the suspect ran into a rear alley and jumped into a waiting car, according to police.
Police didn't reveal the age of the victims and didn't release any description of the suspect.
