Soon, an interim AG is expected to get approved by the state Senate to fill out Kane’s term through the end of the year. And a permanent replacement is on the ballots in the Nov. 8 general election. Montgomery County Commissioner Josh Shapiro, a Democrat, and former deputy Attorney General John Rafferty, a Republican (and Montgomery County native) are running for the post.
