Judge OKs Settlement in Live Nation Suit

A judge in New Jersey has given final approval to a legal settlement that will give free tickets to hundreds of thousands of concertgoers.

The 2009 lawsuit against promoter Live Nation claimed it was illegal to tack on a $6 parking fee for each ticket at New Jersey's PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel when not all concertgoers drive. The plaintiffs also alleged Live Nation's ``no-fee'' promotion was deceptive.

Live Nation has estimated that more than 350,000 people who attended shows between 2003 and 2011 will benefit from the settlement. They'll be entitled to three free concert lawn tickets over the next four years and discount coupons.

Friday's settlement requires Live Nation to pay attorneys' fees of $1.7 million.

Live Nation didn't return a message seeking comment.
