Officer Hurt During Fight at Housing Complex

A Philadelphia Housing Authority Officer was hurt while responding to a disturbance at the Norman Blumberg Apartments in North Philly Saturday.

An officer took a trip to the hospital this morning after being injured during a scuffle at a city apartment complex.

According to Philadelphia Police, a man got into a physical altercation with a Philadelphia Housing Authority officer responding to a disturbance at a high-rise at 1515 Hemberger Way in the Norman Blumberg Apartments complex early Saturday morning.

During the altercation the office cut his hand, according to investigators.

According to police, injuries to the unidentified officer didn’t appear serious; he was hospitalized, however, as standard protocol.

Officers arrested the yet-to-be-identified suspect. Police expect the suspect to be charged with assaulting an officer.

According to the Housing Authority website, the Blumberg Apartments contain a mix of 501 high-rise and low-rise units for residents of all ages.
