Pennsylvania State Police took a 76-year-old man into custody after he allegedly shot and killed his wife and daughter inside a Chester County home Thursday night.
Roger Hanks, of Kennet Square, has been charged with two counts of murder to the first degree and other related charges, according to the District Attorney's Office of Chester County.
The double homicide took place inside a house on Wiltshire Drive in East Marlborough Township, state police said.

Officials said troopers from the Avondale barracks arrived just after 6:15 p.m. to find Hanks in the home's garage.
Inside the home, troopers found two people - a 75-year-old woman and a 37-year-old woman - lying on the ground, shot to death, officials said. First responders tried life-saving measures but were unfortunately unsuccessful.

Hanks was arrested and taken to the Chester County Prison with bail.
“The Defendant senselessly shot and killed his family because of a basic dispute. It is unfathomable that anyone would react this way," District Attorney Christopher L. de Barrena-Sarobe said in a statement. "I want to thank the Pennsylvania State Police who acted quickly and arrested the Defendant after being dispatched to the scene."
