Suspect Chokes, Tries to Rape Woman in Her Philadelphia Home: Police

A photo has been released of the subject in a home invasion where a woman says the intruder choked and tried to sexually assault her early Thursday.

A man forced his way into a Philadelphia home early Thursday and tried to sexually assault a woman during a burglary.

A woman told Philadelphia Police a man broke into her home, demanded money and choked her in her Point Breeze along the 1700 block of S Chadwick Street, near 17th and Morris streets, around 3 a.m.

The man tried to sexually assault the woman before he was forced to flee, said special victims unit investigators.

Police released a sketch of the suspect Thursday evening. The attacker is described as thin, tall man in his 20s or 30s with reddish-brown hair, wearing a dark-colored hoodie, blue jeans and red gloves, investigators said.

The man fled the scene without taking anything, authorities said.
