‘History Repeating': Pain, Terror for Jews Watching War in Ukraine

Before the war with Russia, Ukraine was home to more than 300,000 Jews. Their deep history is among the reasons that Ukrainian Jews are so angry as they see Russian bombs hit a Holocaust memorial and hear Russia claim the invasion will save Ukraine from the Nazis. Photojournalist Jason Ryan explored the situation with Marcia Bronstein, regional director of AJC Philadelphia / SNJ, and Andre Krug, the CEO of KleinLife Jewish center in Northeast Philadelphia, who left Ukraine in 1989.
