Police arrested a man who they say shot at another man and then tried to flee police during a fight in Old City.

Police say it happened Sunday at 2:21 a.m. Two 6th District Officers were standing on 2nd and Chestnut when the heard a shot fired on the Unit block of South 2nd Street, according to investigators. Both officers ran towards a large crowd where they say a fight was taking place.
As the officers broke up the fight, they say they spotted one man, later identified as 28-year-old Christopher Mcrae, run after another man. The man directed the officers towards Mcrae and shouted, “He shot at me!” according to investigators. Police say one officer grabbed Mcrae and a black gun fell out of his waistband onto the ground. The officers tased Mcrae which had no effect on him, according to investigators. Mcrae then allegedly fled the area but was apprehended a short distance away. A weapon was also recovered at the scene, according to investigators.
Mcrae, of Camden, NJ, was arrested and charged with Violation of the Uniform Firearms Act, resisting arrest and other related offenses.
