Frequent Shootings Straining Philadelphia Hospitals

The frequent rate of shootings in Philadelphia means hospital workers in the city are often treating patients right after the other. Dr. Jessica Beard, assistant professor of surgery and trauma at Temple University’s Lewis Katz School of Medicine, says the high volume of shootings is placing a strain on both resources and hospital workers’ emotional health.
