Woman Dies Attempting to Save Pet in Bensalem Blaze

Aerial footage showed a home on the 2700 block of June Avenue in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, engulfed in flames as firefighters attempted to subdue the blaze.

A woman is dead in a house fire in Bensalem, Bucks County. Fire officials say she went back into the burning house to try and rescue a pet. The fire is now under control.

A 39-year-old woman died after rushing into her burning house to save the family dog and cat Wednesday morning, officials said. 

Aerial footage showed a home on the 2700 block of June Avenue in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, engulfed in flames as firefighters attempted to subdue the blaze.

They found two pets dead inside the home, but it is unclear if it was the same animal Tabetha Oakes Rutecki attempted to save. One dog survived, officials said. 

Two other occupants of the home were taken to the hospital.

One firefighter sustained non-life threatening injuries.
