FBI Setting Up Command Post in Center City for Pope Visit, Police May Sleep Downtown

The FBI will establish a central command post in Center City that will remain operational during the entire World Meeting of Families until "after the Pope is back in Rome," said FBI intelligence analyst Frank Wilk.

The FBI will interact with several subsidiary command posts and operating centers, as well as the CIA, NSA, Secret Service and other agencies from the U.S. intelligence community. They will also closely monitor social media, where Wilk said there's a general trend of threats gaining credibility.

"We often see kids posting something when they are about to do something," Wilk said.

In 2011, the connection between violent flash mobs and social media became a topic of contention in Philadelphia. As the flash mobs intensified, some wondered if Twitter was to blame.
