Stray Bullet Strikes Elderly Woman Sitting on Porch in Philly

A 79-year-old Philadelphia woman is in the hospital after police say she was hit by a bullet Tuesday night they believe was not intended for her.

An elderly woman is in the hospital after she was struck by a stray bullet in Philadelphia Tuesday night.

The 79-year-old woman was sitting on the front porch of her home on the 2800 block of North 25th Street around 10:30 p.m. when an unidentified gunman opened fire.

The woman was struck in the right leg. She was taken to Einstein Hospital where she is currently in stable condition. 

Police don’t believe the woman was the shooter’s intended target.

The investigation is ongoing.
