Suspected DUI Driver Crashes Car, Leaves Kids: Police

An eastern Pennsylvania woman with a bench warrant out for her arrest was jailed on charges that she endangered her two young children by leaving them behind when she allegedly fled the scene after crashing her vehicle into parked cars while driving drunk.

Online court records don't list an attorney for 34-year-old Jamie Lynn Wilkinson, who was arrested shortly after the crashes about 8 p.m. Saturday in Bristol.

Police say the Bensalem woman was drunk while her children, who are 18 and 6 months old, were in the vehicle. Witnesses say Wilkinson ran away after the crash, so neighbors grabbed the children and cared for them until police arrived.

Neither child suffered major injuires, according to the Bucks County Courier Times.

Wilkinson told the district judge who arraigned her early Sunday on multiple DUI and child endangerment charges that she has four children. She remained in the Bucks County prison Monday, unable to post 10 percent of $500,000 bond.

According to court records, Wilkinson was charged earlier this year with assault and disorderly conduct stemming from an unrealted incident. A bench warrant was issued after she failed to appear at the start of her trial earlier this month.
