Driver Stabbed, Crashes Into House: Police

Investigators are trying to piece together the events leading up the crash

Police are calling it a homicide. A young driver crashed into a house in the Olney section of the city, but as NBC10’s Byron Scott reports the man had been stabbed.

Residents on the 400 block of West Duncannon Avenue in the Olney section of Philadelphia flagged down police at 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, after a car crashed into a house.

Police say the driver of the GMC Envoy was unconscious. Paramedics pulled him from the car and he was taken to Einstein Hospital, where he was pronounced dead just after 1:00 a.m.

Doctors say the man had been stabbed twice in the chest, according to Chief Inspector Scott Small, Philadelphia Police, who says the accident was a result of the stabbing.

The victim is believed to be around 19 or 20 years old.

Police are calling this a homicide investigation.
