A house in Bear, Delaware was home to an underground tunnel that lead to an elaborate 2000 square foot bunker. Officials say the bunker belonged to Omar Morales Colon. It was home to a massive hydroponic marijuana lab. Officials say they seized drugs, money, and more than 75 kilograms of cocaine. NBC10’s Tim Furlong has the story.
A federal grand jury has indicted three men accused of smuggling more than 75 kilograms (165 pounds) of cocaine into Delaware.
Authorities said Wednesday that Roque Valdez and Mohamed Aviles Camberos obtained cocaine from a supplier in California on at least four occasions starting in December. Investigators say the cocaine was hidden inside sealed oxygen tanks and delivered to Omar Colon of Bear. The tanks were then allegedly used to smuggle back the cash provided by Colon back to California.
The three men were arrested May 6 while meeting in the parking lot of a hotel in Christiana.
Authorities say police seized more than $900,000 in cash as part of the investigation.
It was not immediately clear whether the men have lawyers representing them.
