DA Krasner files to block state's special SEPTA prosecutor after calling new law ‘anti-democratic'

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner is taking legal action in effort to block a state law that removes his authority over crimes that happen on SEPTA property. Krasner calls the move ‘unconstitutional’ after Gov. Josh Shapiro signed the law last month giving the special prosecutor jurisdiction over crimes that happen on or near the transit agency’s property. Republicans say the goal of the special prosecutor is to improve public safety on transit.
