Philadelphia Officer Hurt in 2-Car Crash in Nicetown

The crash happened early Tuesday morning in Nicetown, sending the officer and the other driver to the hospital.

A police officer was among two people injured in a crash in Philadelphia early Tuesday morning.

The crash happened about 3:10 a.m. at Roberts and Wissahickon Avenues in the Nicetown section.

A GMC Envoy was traveling eastbound on Roberts Avenue when it collided with a 39th District police SUV that was heading northbound on Wissahickon Avenue.

A police officer was taken to Temple University Hospital for observation. The driver of the GMC Envoy was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center.

The crash remains under investigation.
