Cops Arrest Man Pulled From Collapsed Building

Police arrested a man who they believe was stealing from a collapsed building.

While firefighters were on the scene of three-story building collapse in North Philadelphia they found a man in the rubble. The man was then arrested for disorderly conduct cops told NBC10’s John Clark.

It happened on the 2400 block of Cumberland Street in North Philadelphia. Investigators say an abandoned building collapsed. No one was hurt.

NBC10 cameras rolled as firemen stood at the scene. As they were talking amongst themselves, a sound was heard from beneath the rubble. When they went to investigate, they found a man underneath. The firemen pulled the man out and took him to police.

Police tell NBC10 they believe the man was underneath the wreckage looting and looking for items to sell, such as copper. The man was arrested and will be charged with disorderly conduct, according to police.

Police continue to invesitgate the cause of the collapse.
