Child, 3, Shot in Philadelphia

A 3-year-old child and a 43-year-old man were shot in the Grays Ferry section of Philadelphia. Police say it appears the gunman had the wrong address, but what is more disconcerting is that neighbors allegedly did not call 911 after the incident. NBC10’s Cyndey Long has the latest.

A 3-year-old child was in stable condition after he was hit by gunfire in south Philadelphia, said police.

A police spokeswoman said the shooting was reported shortly after 11:30 a.m. Monday at a home on the 1300 block of Newkirk Street in the Gray's Ferry section of the city.

Police said the boy was hit in the right thigh. He was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where he was reported in stable condition.

A 43-year-old man hit in the right leg by gunfire was also reported in stable condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Police said no arrests were immediately reported, and they had no initial information about the circumstances surrounding the gunfire.
