Firefighters put out flames at an apartment building at 17th and Spruce streets in Center City. Everyone was able to get out of the building safely.
Firefighters responded to reports of heavy smoke in a Center City apartment building early Friday morning.
The fire broke out in a 4-story residential property on the 300 block of South 17th Street, near Spruce Street, shortly before 1 a.m., officials said.
One victim was treated at the scene, but they should be okay.
No other injuries were reported.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
