Caught on Tape: Alleged Officer Beating of Frankford Student

Truancy police are accused of following a student — who came late for class — into the school and beating him. The student, Jeffione Thomas, is a star football player for the school. His attorney, Fortunato Perri, Jr., showed us what a school surveillance camera caught on tape the morning of October 30, 2009. The student ended up being charged with assault. The school is now investigating. Perri says allegations that the student threw the first punch are not true and that the officers overreacted. One of the officers was put on desk duty and the other was re-assigned to another school. The student’s attorney is asking the District Attorney’s office to investigate the case, saying the officers overreacted.
