Car Leads Police on Chase in South Philadelphia, Occupants Escape on Foot

Three people escaped on foot after bailing out of a car being chased by State Police in South Philadelphia early Sunday morning. Police are still looking for the car’s occupants.

Police on Sunday morning were searching for three people who fled from State Police after a chase through South Philadelphia.

State Police tried to stop a car on I-95 South near the Broad Street exit about 2:20 a.m. for an expired tag, according to police. Instead of pulling over, police said, the driver sped up and attempted to get away.

Police chased the car to 28th Street and Passyunk Avenue. There, police said, the car stopped and all three occupants bailed out and ran. Police later Sunday morning were still searching for the people who were in the car.

No injuries were reported.
