Crash Causes Car to Slam Into West Philadelphia Home

Two drivers were taken to the hospital in unknown conditions.

A collision caused a car to slam into a home in West Philadelphia. Two drivers were hospitalized. The homeowners were not in the house at the time.

Two people were hurt after a collision between two vehicles at a West Philadelphia intersection crushed one car and caused the other to slam into a nearby home.

The two vehicles collided near the 6100 block of Ellsworth Street Sunday afternoon. The impact caused one vehicle to crash into a white truck in the street while the other vehicle, a red Toyota, traveled across a lawn before striking a home.

The drivers of both vehicles were taken to the hospital. Officials have not yet revealed their conditions. The homeowners were not in the house at the time of the crash.

“I just can’t even fathom the whole repair process and the displacement,” Beverly Johnson, a neighbor of the homeowners, told NBC10. “It’s heartbreaking.”

L&I officials will determine if the home is still safe for the family to live there. Officials continue to investigate the crash.
