Car Crashes Into Garage Door of Philadelphia Firehouse

A car crashed into a firehouse in Wissinoming, smashing a medic unit vehicle. The driver who crashed was treated at the hospital but released and says he may have fallen asleep at the wheel.

A car crashed into the garage door of a Philadelphia firehouse around 1:45 a.m. Friday, police said.

The car in Wissinoming destroyed the door and hit a 3-month-old ambulance parked in Engine 52.

The accident occurred at Harbison Avenue and Van Kirk Street.

Firefighters said the driver may have fallen asleep behind the wheel.

There were no injuries in the incident.
